Training Programme

ETTI

Emerging Tech Training & Internship

ETTI is where emerging-technology learning moves beyond the lecture. Through partner-based training, mentorship, and supervised practical exposure, students begin to see how real work happens across blockchain, data, AI, and related fields. Each edition is developed with a host institution, so the programme is shaped around a real cohort, a real context, and a real educational purpose.

About the Programme

Training that meets the real world

Some students learn quickly in the classroom but still have little sense of how technical work is actually done. ETTI is designed to close that gap. It combines structured teaching with guided exposure to working environments, so participants do not only study concepts, but also encounter the pace, expectations, and judgement involved in applying them.

Rather than delivering the same format every time, KBI Netherlands works with each host to shape the edition around the students, calendar, and level of readiness involved.

What Makes ETTI Different

More than a short course

  • It is built with a host institution, not delivered as a generic standalone class.
  • It combines taught content with supervised practical or ecosystem exposure.
  • It focuses on how emerging-technology work is practised, not only how it is explained in theory.
  • It can prepare students for deeper participation in KBI programmes, projects, and future certification pathways.
How It Works

A typical ETTI pathway

01
Partner design
KBI Netherlands works with the host institution to understand the cohort, align expectations, and shape a programme that fits the academic context and time available.
02
Structured learning
Students take part in focused modules covering topics such as cryptography, consensus, distributed systems, data workflows, AI practice, or quantum fundamentals, depending on the edition.
03
Practical exposure
Where appropriate, participants are given supervised exposure to a lab, innovation environment, partner organisation, working group, or internship-style setting that helps them understand how the field operates in practice.
04
Completion and next steps
Students complete the edition with a clearer sense of the field, stronger technical context, and a better understanding of where they may want to go next.
Editions

Each edition has a host

ETTI is not one fixed template. It is a programme model that takes a slightly different shape depending on the institution, the cohort, and the learning goals involved.

InHolland — First Edition (upcoming)

KBI Netherlands is developing the first ETTI edition in partnership with InHolland University of Applied Sciences. Details on the cohort structure, topics, and timeline will be announced when the programme opens. Institutions interested in future editions are welcome to get in touch.

Future editions

New editions are developed when the right host partner, cohort, and delivery context are in place. Some may be university-based; others may be designed for hogescholen, secondary schools, or special partner settings.

Certification

Training first, certification later

ETTI is a training programme, not a formal assessment. Its purpose is to prepare students through guided learning and practical exposure, not to certify competence by itself. Formal credentials for demonstrated competence sit separately within KBI's broader certification pathway. For some participants, ETTI may become part of the preparation that helps them approach those opportunities with greater confidence when available. Learn more about ISFRETIC.

Bring ETTI to your institution

ETTI works best when it is built around a real partner and a real educational need. If your school, university, or institution in the Netherlands is interested in running an edition, KBI Netherlands would be glad to explore it together. Students who want to join a future edition can also register their interest and be contacted when a suitable cohort opens.
