KBI Netherlands is launching the International Quantum Computing Olympiad (IQCOL) in the Netherlands, adding the third and final track to the I2OL scheme alongside IBCOL and IDSOL.

IQCOL focuses on Quantum Computing and Information Theory (QCIT) — an emerging field that applies quantum physics to computational problems previously beyond the reach of classical systems. Participants work in two competition categories: Exploration Proposals (EXP), which advance the state of the art in QCIT through research, and Application Proposals (APP), which apply current QCIT methods to practical problems across industry, government, and academia.

With IQCOL now available in the Netherlands, Dutch students and institutions can participate in all three KBI olympiad tracks — blockchain, data science, and quantum computing — through a single structured pathway. Teams qualifying through the Netherlands can progress toward ETO Western 2026 at InHolland on 8–9 October.
